for citizens of India.

Citizens of India require an Airport Transit visa, unless they meet one of the exemptions below. At this time, VisaHQ.com cannot assist in obtaining a visa to Germany. All applicants must appear in person at the nearest Embassy or Consulate of Germany to apply.
The following persons do not require a visa to transit through certain German airports (see list and times below) for up to 12 hours, provided that they are in transit to a non-Schengen state and do not leave the International Transit Area of the airport:
Airports with an International Transit Area:
If your next destination will be another airport in Germany or the Schengen region (even if in transit); or you need to leave the International Transit Area of the airport you will be required to obtain a Tourist visa.
The following persons do not require a visa to transit through certain German airports (see list and times below) for up to 12 hours, provided that they are in transit to a non-Schengen state and do not leave the International Transit Area of the airport:
• Holders of a valid residence permit issued by Andorra, Canada, Japan, San Marino, the United States, or any Member State of the European Union, European Economic Area, or Schengen region.
• Holders of a valid visa for Canada, Japan, the United States, or any Member State of the European Union or European Economic Area.
• Holders of a valid uniform visa, national long-stay visa, or residence permit issued by a Schengen Member State.
• Holders of a valid visa for Canada, Japan, the United States, or any Member State of the European Union or European Economic Area.
• Holders of a valid uniform visa, national long-stay visa, or residence permit issued by a Schengen Member State.
Airports with an International Transit Area:
Frankfurt/Main: Open 24 hours.
Munich: Open 24 hours.
Colonge/Bonn: Only between 4:30 AM and 11:00 PM.
Dusseldorf: Only between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM - airline MUST prearrange with airport security.
Hamburg: Only between 4:30 AM and 11:30 PM.
Travelers that will transit outside of these hours or through other airports will require a Tourist visa.Munich: Open 24 hours.
Colonge/Bonn: Only between 4:30 AM and 11:00 PM.
Dusseldorf: Only between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM - airline MUST prearrange with airport security.

What is a Schengen visa?
